What is STACS Inc?

STACS (Safety Training and Consulting Services) is a privately owned international health and safety consulting company. They offer services in training program development and delivery, training needs assessments, program and facility audits, industrial hygiene sampling and program writing, as well as supplying health and safety related products.

Training Description:

This course is designed for managers and supervisors of workers who use fall protection equipment. The first day of this course utilizes the Competent Person 1-day program material. Day 2 involves a detailed analysis of the regulatory requirements and related fall protection standards, as well as covering hazard recognition, equipment inspection and a theoretical review of rescue.

Training Objectives:

• Identify fall hazards and outline examples of fall prevention versus fall protection, including Fall Restraint, Positioning and Fall Arrest.
• Identify key components (referred to as the ABC's) of fall protection equipment and describe legislative requirements for fall prevention and protection.
• Understand how to calculate fall clearance distance and outline methods to minimize fall arrest forces.
• Identify the key elements of a rescue program.
• Demonstrate proper inspection, donning and use of a full body harness as well as associated equipment (i.e. fixed lanyards, self-retracting lanyards, cross-arm straps, etc.)
